  • 1.  Web Messenger Link - Would like to not require email address field

We would like for users using the web messenger to be able to skip the email address field and only have to enter their passphrase.  I think this can be done as the web messenger link attached to the encrypted pdf message only requires the passphrase.  The difference in the links is a one letter difference.  Is there any way to change this?

how would universal know which users is being logged?

Those links are CGI scripts inside the server, is not static data, so we cannot tell the server which user is being logged by URL.

Anyway you can tell you browser to remember users, next time they will have to enter just one letter.

Thanks, but the actual link contains the email address of the individual that it was sent to.  An example would be https://keys.*****.com/b/b.e?r=*****%40gmail.com where the second set of astricks is the email address for a user with a gmail account. You can cut and paste this link into a web browser and change out the b.e with an f.e and the link only requires a passphrase. I am wondering how you would change this link for New Web messenger messages so email addresses are not required.

    Thanks.

We recently upgrade from 2.12 to 3.2.0 MP4 - and are also having problems with many external users being able to log in.

It appears that the system is treating email addresses as case sensitive - and since the link no longer populates the UserName field they try to log in say in lower case and are denied access.

I did receive a script from Support to run that updates a couple of functions - the script is called boom_to_lower.sql - but no instructions on how to run it.

We'd like to see the product work by allowing the remote users to click on the link, enter their password and get their email - as they did in 2.12.

    Thanks.

Sarah, we fixed the issue with case sensitivity on logins in 3.2 MP4 HF5. The fix didn't make it in time for 3.2 Mp5. But it will be in Indigo (3.2.1) which is due out sometime late May or early June 2012 timeframe...

As far as users clicking a link and not putting in a passphrase on 2.12. I don't recall that feature. I would have to do some additional testing to decide what the behavior is.

The link actually didnt require them to enter in their email address everytime it just asked for the passphrase and it looks like this has been reimplemented in 3.2 Mp5.

    Thanks everyone for your help.
