I've seen LOTS of possible solutions, and have either missed the one that will fix this, or there isn't one out there yet. Regular backups without the System State work properly. A test job including the system state or only the System State fails with these errors:

Completed status: Failed
Final error: 0xe000fe30 - A communications failure has occurred.
Final error category: Server Errors

For additional information regarding this error refer to link V-79-57344-65072

I do not use AOFO, all other servers in the domain back up without error except for this one. Server 2003 Standard R2 SP2 x64. BE Version 10.1 Rev. 5629. Dell Poweredge 850. SQL 2005 server.

After the error, the Agent on the server stops and does not restart automatically. On the server, an error box opens with this info for the error:

Error signature
szAAppName: beremote.exe  szAppVer: 10.1.5629.34  szModName: beclass.dll
szModVer: 10.1.5629.10   offset: 000000000007375e

I've reinstalled the agent, checked the NIC connectivity settings, uninstalled Dell Openmanage, etc, etc. For EVERY other server in the enterprise the back up works. Links provided in the errors don't help.

Any help would be MOST appreciated! Thanks in advance!

Hi, I cannot make out from

Hi,

I cannot make out from your information, whether it fails on service state or system state under shadow copy components. Please try backing up just system state from shadow copy components and see if that fails too or it is just service state? Service state may contain DFSR. So, stopping DFSR service before performing backup may help. Also, ensure that SP4 is applied on BE 10d.

Please mark this as a solution, if this resolves your question.
