  • 1.  Western Digital External USB HDD is not block through SEP as server base policy applied through SEPM

    i have SEPM 11.0.7 WITH SERVER 2003 AND CLIENT SEP 11.0.7 WITH XP SP3

    Symantec Endpoint through the policy to put storage device can block USB mass storage BUT

    BUT

    it could not block USB External Mass storage devices to which i tried add device IDs and put into block but couldn't

    I ATTACHED ACTUAL POLICY IN ZIP FORMAT KINDLY AND UPDATE me what missing BUT Ensure

    But ensure that USB printing USB port must be open for scanning or printer etc USB STORAGE /FLASH/MASS STORAGE /USB EXT HDD MUST BE BLOCK

    some of the device are below whihc i placed in block list -

    yes these guide line not convering to block External USB HDD

    I attached my policy too u can import check if some wrong

    my problem not yet save

    article TECH173724 .... covering block writing to USB not telling to how stop read from usb external hdd

    and if we block USB then all of the USB related device are blocked e.g USB printer etc

    article TECH106304 is not my interset i dont want to allow any of usb storage/hdd/flash to read/wrirte

    i want to totally block usb storage/flash/EXTERNAL USB HDD but USB printing /scanner allowed

     

    problem not solved waitinf for the right solution

    PROBLEM NOT YET SOLVED WAITING FOR RIGHT SOLUTION

    IF I PUT USB TO BLOCK LIST THEN USB PRINTING SCANNING ETC STOP
