i want to know the new policy settings introduced in SEP 12.1.2 & what are the new policy settings added in SEP 12.1.2 compare then SEP 11.6 RU6

Recently we have migrated from SEP 11.6 RU6 to SEP 12.1.2 using my SEP 11.6 data backup. After migration still we were using the existing SEP 11.6 policy only. 

For implementing the new features which is related to SEP 12.1.2, i want to know the new features which is related to policy.

Kindly help me on this.

Hi,

All the policies are same in SEP 12.1 if we compared with SEP 11.x however In SEP 12.1 Default policies are tuned for Today’s threat landscape.

Few of them are listed below:

1) New ICMP Trigger for Location Awareness

2) Improved Tamper Protection

3) Virus & Spyware policy have now SONAR/ Download Insight configurable settings.

4) Now in SEP 12.1 RU2 there are 30 firewall rules.

5) Application and device control policy now support on 64 bit OS as well

Basically all the policies are enhanced with reference to newly added features (SONAR, Download Insight, Shared Insight Cache etc.)
