  • 1.  What is the best way to get updated to NEW minor releases?

    For example, I updated my clients to 12.1.6 MP2 and then MP3 comes out. But, I am not aware so I don't think to update.

     

    Currently, unless I go to FileConnect and manually put in my serial # and check for versions, I have no idea when a new minor release comes out. Does Symantec have any system to notify resellers (and/or clients) when minor releases of EE and SBE come out? Or, is there a way to automate updating like signatures (but hopefully with a rollback)?

    But I'll be honest, they rarely ever worked for me. I usually find out via this forum or our Account Manager.

    Request you to please Subscribing to Product-Specific Software Alerts

    1. Navigate to Symantec’s Enterprise Support Home Page.
    2. Choose one of the product families listed under the Top Products section or click on theSupport Products A to Z link and navigate to the desired product landing page.
    3. Login using your SymAccount credentials by clicking on the Login link found on the upper right-hand side of the page.
    4. Click on the Product Alerts link, located on the right-hand side of the page.Click on the Subscribe: Email link found on the upper right-hand side of the page.
    1. After clicking on either of the subscribe links (SymWISE articles or Common Topics), you should see a confirmation screen. Click on the Subscribe button.
    2. To manage product-specific Software Alerts subscriptions, ensure you are logged in via SymAccount. Then click on the Manage Subscriptions link found on the right-hand side navigation menu under the MySymantec header.

    Hi,

    I would be glad to answer your query. Product-Specific Software Alerts Option is no longer available now on Enterprise Support Home page.

    If you have a current BCS contract and wish to register yourself or a customer please email Support_Solutions@Symantec.com and request a Unique ID and Company Name. Please include the first and last name of the person you are requesting credentials for, their email address, and the customers company name. Support Solutions will then create credentials and send an email with registration instructions.

    For Non BCS customers there is no other option than manually checking at Symantec site or on the connect forum.
