Hi

datalog file holds information about what symantec product has been installed on your box so that it can download the definitions for them.
you may have multiple symantec products in one single machine, however you will find just one liveudpate. catalog files are updated when you install new symantec product which requires liveupdate.
YOu may try re-registering your liveudpate with SEPM these these steps as mentioned in this document it should update you catalog file to the latest.

LiveUpdate and content troubleshooting for the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/docid/2008091613592648

    1. From the Start menu select Run
    2. Enter the following command including the quotes:

      "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\LuCatalog.exe" -cleanup

This command will unregister all Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager content from LiveUpdate. We will then proceed to re-register the content again with LiveUpdate.

    3. From the Start menu select Run
    4. Enter the following command including the quotes:

      "C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\bin\LuCatalog.exe" -update

I have exactly this problem, and this did not work....

Hi -

I have exactly this problem, dating from 1/21/2010.

For some reasons only 50 of my 650 clients are showing a definition date of 1/21/2010 - the rest are current.

I've run:

  • Lucatalog.exe -cleanup
  • Lucatalog.exe -update

with no effect.

My SEPM version is 11.0.5002.333 and the clients are various versions of SEP 11.

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Rob
