  • 1.  What do I need to do if I have a new image, and I want SEP to be automaticall installed when the machine is introduced to the domain

Without pushing it from the SEPM server. The example is, we are receiving many new PC's with an image of SAV installed, but before I deploy the PC's to the users, I want the client to go out and FIND an installation to replace the SAV without pushing it from the server.

    Thank you

You could install SEP on your image if you want. Just push it to your image pc from the server. Then before you take your image delete the registry entry below. If you don't your pcs will register will the SEP server with duplicate hardware IDs.

    [HKLM\SOFTWARE\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\SMC\SYSLINK\Syslink]
    HardwareID

You can create a software installation GPO to force those computers to install SEP.

Cool info Prachand. Now I can remove the lines that delete the HardwareID key from my image prep script. =)
