What kind of persistence required for EV HLB VIP for CAS

Hi,

Does anyone know if EV has any specific persistence requirements when setting up Hardware Load Balancing VIP for Exchange 2010 CAS servers?  This is for Exchange journal archiving.

Hiya,

Nope, you do not need any "special requirements" over and above the stock ones mentioned in the Install & Config guide.

If this is only for journaling you can of course ignore the OWA section too ;)

I also noticed this subject has come up before on this forum and am posting a link to it as well.

It seems BES requires the following 2 settings on F5, which may also apply to EV.  Symc does not have an  official word on it.

 

  • iRule: exchange-snpool-persist
  • Idle Timeout: 7200 seconds
