What license is required to use PGP Virtual Disk?

Created: 22 Apr 2014 | 3 comments

Hi,

This site is very confusing. I can't figure out what I need to buy to have PGP Virtual Disk functionality. Other features are not needed.

I see that "Symantec Drive Encryption" has minimal price. But does it include PGP Virtual Disk?

Hi bi11ybob,

Yes. It should be included.

The Licensing department should be able to confirm this: http://www.symantec.com/support/contact_techsupp_s...

The most common 'Editions' of Symantec Encryption Desktop and associated features are:

Symantec Drive Encryption:  PGP Disk Encryption, PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk

Symantec Desktop Email Encryption:  PGP Messaging, PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk

Symantec Encryption Desktop Professional:  PGP Disk, PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk, PGP Messaging

Symantec Encryption Desktop Corporate:  PGP Disk, PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk, PGP Messaging, Fileshare Encryption

Symantec Encryption Desktop Storage:  PGP Disk, PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk, FileShare Encryption

Symantec FileShare Encryption:  PGP Zip, PGP Virtual Disk, FileShare Encryption

Zip and Virtual Disk, along with the PGP Shredder, are included in each of the versions.

Good Day,

How many clients you are looking for your encryption solution? Are you planning to use Symantec Encryption Management Server or stand alone?

PGP Virtual Disk volumes are a feature of Symantec Encryption Desktop that let you use part of your hard drive space as an encrypted virtual disk.

Best Regards,
