Patch Management Solution

I've already set an "Import Patch Data for Windows" task several different times today and still have not received any bulletins newer than 9/4/2015.

I simply wanted to ask if Symantec has any sort of schedule or bulletin that they release to users of SMP when Tuesday patches, or any patches for that matter, have been released for us to import. This would be helpful as I've read in some forums that not ALL Microsoft patches are included and it would be helpful to know that in case we need one that's missing. 

As a side note the task did include anything Microsoft related.

Here's my console as of the last import which was early this AM. It is organized by date with the latest at the top. I mayhave more or less than you and others depending on what software bulletins I receive. This is dictated by what software/vendfor I select to be patched. Right now we patch Microsoft and Adobe products only. See attached.

I believe patch Tuesday was just today, 9/8. It will be a couple of days before those Microsoft patches (for Sept.) are available in the patch import data received in the Symantec console. The MS patches available to you should reflect whatever has been checked in the "Vendors and Software" section of the MetaData Import Task page.

We run the import nightly (around 2am) and my latest patches show 9/4, as well. This looks normal.

As for missing MS patches...not sure which one that would be. We usually see everything relevant for the products we use and need to patch.

Thanks for the confimation tloenhorst, I'm still fairly new to this. My bulletins look the same as yours so I guess I'll just have to be patient.

i didnt click on tloenhorst links but it is easy to remember..

you already know "Patch Tuesday" so the next to remember is

Altiris Patch Thursday.

I believe I read that Symantec gives 2 days to get all patches setup for download and tested within 2 days and I have always found the patches in Altiris on Thursday (I have PM Import run at 5am)
