  • 1.  What is MP1, MP2, MP3?

    Hello,

    I see extensive reference to MP1, MP2, and MP3...

    for example, on this page, there are four options:

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=DOC4559

    Symantec PGP Desktop 10.2 for Windows Release Notes
    Symantec PGP Desktop 10.2 MP1 for Windows Release Notes
    Symantec PGP Desktop 10.2 MP2 for Windows Release Notes
    Symantec PGP Desktop 10.2 MP3 for Windows Release Notes

    I'm curious as to what the difference between 10.2, 10.2 MP1, etc is?  I tried searching the site for this info but I'm not finding it.

    Thanks!

    The MP stands for Maintenance Pack, the higher the number, the more recent the build.  The MPs are minor updates between version number updates that contain some improvements or fixes.

    MP3 = Maintenace Pack 3 = 10.2 Build 2317

    This is the current release as of December 2011. We will have another maintenance pack out possibly sometime during February 2012.
