No you should not go directly from RU5 to RU6MP2.

It is not recommend to upgrade directly from RU5  to RU6MP2

This migration path is not supported.
RU6MP1 is a Maintenance patch and not a maintenance release, A MP can only be installed on the main build. You can install RU6 over RTM or MR3 or MR4MP2 but not RU6MP2. For that you need to have RU6

Possible effects after a direct upgrade to RU6MP2 from a lower version [except RU6]:
Schema Corruption.
Possible dll corruption.
Policies Corruption.
Network breakdown.

So what you need Upgrade the clients to RU6 and then upgrade to RU6MP2.

Thanks for this information but on the behalf of our serial number we are able to download only 11.0.6 MP2. we are not getting their only 11.0.6.

Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_11.0.6_MP2_Xplat_EN_DVD.zip  <--- RU6 MP2

You need to go to https://fileconnect.symantec.com website.

Use your serial number which will be something like Mxxxxxxxxxx, Accept the agreement and you will get link to download the latest version from here.

To migrate from MR5 to MR6 MP2, do we have to install the MR6a (1.1 GB) and install the MR6 MP2 (1.3 GB)?

In the MR6 MP2 line, it says Base Product + Inline Update.

Do we have to download both files or just the MP2 and then we'll migrate in 2 times from that package (6a and MP2)

I understand that a migration for the SEPM from 11.05 -> 11.06A -> 11.06 MP2. But how would a client upgrade look like? Can you go from a 11.05 client to the 11.06 MP2 client? It's just an MSI install.

You can but it is not recommended nor supported.

The client migration is the same as the SEPM migration: 11.0.5 >> RU6a >> RU6 MP2

I've accidentally upgraded from RU5 to RU6 MP2 and the client seems to work fine, however, others on here have had problems so if you decide to go from RU5 to RU6 MP2 I would proceed cautiously.

ok, so if whatever my current SEP client, i shall manually remove it (ask the user to uninstall it) and then install it from Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_11.0.6_MP2_Xplat_EN_DVD.zip ?
