  • 1.  what port for Altiris Client use?

    Some one in our office ask this following question?

    Can you look into identifying the ports that Altiris client opens at the desktop in order to function properly on the network. We would like to identify applications that require the FW to be turned off, and then propose a solution which will enable us to have the local FW turned on at each workstation.

    Jim,

    Our network administrator want to do the test use his machine turn on the windows firewall, and add those ports from KB article #22325.

    Would I be able still install Altiris Agent on his machine?
    Would I be able do the patch on his machine?
    Would I be able do inventory, software delivery, Aclient install?
    Do the normal stuff.

    If he added the ports, he should be fine.
