    From SEPM

High CPU usage from Sesclu.exe process

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/ent-security.nsf/ppfdocs/2009062513045848?Open&dtype=corp&src=&seg=&om=1&om_out=prod

Situation: You find that when your Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) client computer experiences poor performance, the Sesclu.exe process appears to be using a large amount of the CPU.

Solution: To resolve this issue, you can remediate virus definitions on the SEP client.

Refer to the How to clear out corrupted definitions for a Symantec Endpoint Protection Client document for detailed instructions

This has a pretty good description:

    Technical Information

SESCLU is Symantec Endpoint Security Client LiveUpdate. Its default location is C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection. It is a Symantec Client Management component, handling content updates that come from SEPM, GUP, or third-party management tools.

    Hi,

I don't see it running every time while getting updates from internet or from SEPM.

It seems you have been affected by a known issue.

Refer this article: High CPU usage from Sesclu.exe process
