  • 1.  What's up with ldap synchronization

    Posted Jul 13, 2010 02:46 PM
    Hi,

I upgraded the version of my SBG (running in appliace). Before of the upgrade I will find under status the "ldap synchronization" that the system report the synchronization and the replication with the scanners, but in the new version these options disapears. Where are there?

Now I have many errors with my ldap. Any ideas. My new version is: 9.0.1-10

    Regards,

    Carlos Espinoza

LDAP Sync no longer exists in SBG 9.  They have replaced it with Directory Integration.  Each BCC and Scanner will now query your LDAP source as needed and cache the reponses.  The upgrade notes cover this in some detail.  You will need to define the ldap sources in the CC, and each scanner/bcc will need a path to the ldap source - this implies firewall rules, and possibly hostnames defined in your DMZ DNS.  You should also use LDAP over SSL for security.

    Hi Carlos,

It really depend that why you want to use, LDAP source for.

For Recipinet validation, or  Controlcenter user authentication, and so on....

You must make sure that all scanners have access to LDAP sever through your Firewall if any...

Becuase now it is a live query to your to your LDAP source.

Here is the kb article for further assistance.
