  • 1.  When is End of Life for 'Mail Security for SMTP'?

Hi  I've received notification from Symantec that Mail Security for SMTP will be discontinued soon.

Exactly what date will SMS for SMTP be discontinued?

Symantec recommended a move to BrightMail Gateway - are there significant changes in the BrightMail software compared to SMS for SMTP?

We have 1 domain server (with 10 attached PCs), running Win Svr 2003 Std and MS Exchange 2003 and currently using SMS for SMTP.  If we do move to BrightMail, will the changeover on this server and PCs be straightforward?  Are there particular issues I need to look out for?

    Thanks for any help.

End of Standard Support was on 11/2/09. This means there will be no more updates or patches, but we will still help you with configuration issues if you call.

Here is a handy guide on migrating. Keep in mind the appliance is something you have to run on a VMWare ESX/ESXi environment if you don't buy the physical appliance.
