File Share Encryption

I own two perpetual licenses for PGP WDE for Mac, and need to buy a third.  Where can make this purchase?  I cannot find a way to buy it from the Symantec store.

The takeover og PGP by Symantec can only be described as the destruction of a brand. Symantec makes every effort to deter PGP customers. Apparently, buying the product online has become impossible and I can't even update my WDE to 10.1.1 because I can't find a way to make this upgrade. Thank goodness, Lion was just announced with an integrated WDE.

But why is Symantec doing this? PGP used to be a trusted brand and I am sure the acquisition price wasn't cheap either. So why chase away long time PGP customers?

I have to agree the removal of in-software update checking combined with the round the houses way I had to get 10.1.1 (not to mention the fact it was a bit of luck I even knew 10.1.1 existed!) is a very poor show.

Unfortunately we had to remove the in-software check since we couldn't bring our update server infrastructure over to Symantec. We'll find a way to enable this in the future, but it will be a while.

In the meantime, I'm proposing the use of the Encryption Blog (https://www-secure.symantec.com/connect/symantec-blogs/encryption-blog) as a way to communicate updates and maintenance releases. It won't be as automatic, but there will at least be a place to look.

Regarding the software purchase, the Symantec Store integration ran into a snag -- that's why the product is only available via phone for the next couple of weeks (call today! an operator is standing by! Call 1-877-294-5255 within the next 10 minutes and get a free Virtual Disk!).

Symantec's really not trying to kill us. Really.

Any idea how long it will take to migrate the server infrastructure and the online purchasing??

Here in the UK it is an absolute Pain In the A... to try and buy the PGP products now, it used to be really easy to just enter credit card details and away you go, but now you get redirected to one of the 244 resellers who quite frankly don't have a clue, let alone the ability to process credit cards.

Also having to purchase a minimum of 5 licenses when I only require 1 is quite expensive. 

Why couldn't the PGP purchasing infrastructure just be maintained until Symantec had got its house in order instead of just cutting its customer base off so abruptly.

Sorry if this seems like a rant but I am really annoyed about the whole mess...
