Where can I find the Scan Failures settings on the top right of the Dashboard?

  • 1.  Where can I find the Scan Failures settings on the top right of the Dashboard?

    Posted Feb 06, 2015 06:19 AM

    Hey guys,

I've been searching the SEPM for the settings for Scan Failures, I need to exclude  a group of servers from being flagged as "Scan Failures" because it's only scanning once every two months. And except from that group the whole network scans every day. Maybe someone know where it is or know what I'm looking for.

Just to be clear I'm talking about the First top left box in the dashboard, thre's a "Scan Failures" notification there, I want to exclude a group of servers from being flagged, that way it doesn't turn in to a red box with a "Security Status: Attention Needed" written on it.

    Thanks,

    Hi,

Thank you for posting in Symantec community.

You can get the reports to find this info.

    #Edit

As you know on the SEPM Home page, click on view details there you will find Scan failures machines.

Did you check the scan log under the monitors page?

    Hi Chetan,

I'm not looking for a way to pull logs, I'm looking for a way to exclude a group of servers from being monitored as not scanning so it wont be flagged in the dashboard as"Scan Failure".

According to Rafeeq it is not pissible, can you verify that since you are symantec employee? I need an official proof to show my boses in case we need it to.

    Thank you,

To remove the sceduled scan create new Virus and Spyware policy, remove the administrator defined schedule scan from the option. Assign that policy to those two servers. Perform manual full scan whenever it's required.

    Hi Rafeeq,

I hope there's a workaround for this and also yeah I saw the settings on how to set the %  before the alert kicks in. I cannot make it lesser or greater because it will affect the whole network instead of just the server group.

    Thank you,

No, My problem is to exclude the server group from being flagged as not scanning in the dashboard. We're already doing manual scan and the scheduled scan is already removed, it's not the problem here.

    Hi Rafeeq,

I hope there's  work around for that, also yes I saw the settings where you can change the % of when the dashboard will trigger redflag. I was hoping there's a more granullar setting than just %, something where I can also exclude a group of clients so it wont cause redflag even when it is not scanning.

    Thank you,

On SEPM page dashboard select preference & you can tweak the settings. I believe you can't specifically mentioned those two server to avoid being flagged.

    Check this screenshot.

The PHP function for the dashboard includes every group in your SEPM. so its not possible to exclude any gruop.
