Where does Patch management get its Hotfixes from ?

I though all patches where downloaded from the symantec website? What is this trying to download from the Microsoft website ?

No, the pmimport file tells Patch Management where to download the patches from and will usually be the manufacturer's website.

Authorised Symantec Consultant (ASC) with Endpoint Management Limited, an Authorised Symantec Delivery Provider based in the UK.

Thats what I thought - so why is it trying to pull stuff from microsoft download site ? I've never set it up to do that.

By the manufacturer's site I mean the Microsoft site for Microsoft patches, the Adobe site for Adobe patches and so on.

Ah OK -  I always assumed it was from here it got the patches.

Thanks. Just need to adjust the Group Policy/ firewall then.

Hi JoeShmo,

As it was already mentioned by default Patch Management Solution downloads software updates using download URLs provided by vendor.

But some software updates require additional scripts for installation via Patch Management Solution. These scripts(not updates) are indeed downloaded from Symantec site.
