Which CCS Standard support raw-based via agent-based data collector?

Created: 12 Jan 2013 | 1 comment

Dear All,

I install CCS Agent on windows 2008 R2 with MS SQL 2008 R2. I install windows agent and RBC(raw-based collector), ccsmssqltpi.exe, from installer media.

After register agent and import. I found only windows asset, no mssql asset. But after I install MBC(message-based collector),esmmssqltpi.exe. And regist agent with sa user of SQL Server. After import agent and asset I found the SQL server asset.

I choose Security Essentials for Microsoft SQL Server 2008 standard to collect data. It asking the credentail of SQL. !!!!

Normally, agent-based should not ask the credentail, it should be the agent-less collector. Please guide me about this idea.

Thanks you

I believe the problem is that you have enabled Message Based Content on the Agent and then are trying to run a Raw Based Collector standard against the asset.    You may want to run an additional Asset import using the SQL Server as Asset type, "Network" as the source and add the existing Windows Server.  I believe that this should setup an additional SQL Asset for you to run the Raw data standard against without having to add the credentials.  I am not 100% sure about this, but it is worth a try.
