  • 1.  Which version of SEP is installed?

    How do I tell if 32 or 64 bit SEP 11 v6 is installed on Windows 7 pro workstations?

     

    Nothing in the program that I can find tells me. The program is installed on all 64x machines under c:\program files (x86) but some things in the \Local Machine\Software\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection registry hive show 64 bit and others show Win32. In the task manager RTVscan shows 32bit, but smc.exe shows 64.

     

    I am very confused.

    On 64 bit machine is installs a 64 bit version. Since SEP is primitive 32 bit app. so it installs it in program files(x86) however it is a 64 bit install.

    You cannot install 32 bit SEP on 64 bit OS and Vice Versa.
