  • 1.  Why the definition download time is different from the configuration in SEPM?

    As title, we set the definition download time from 2:00am-5:00am which hope to prevent the download time have conflict with our company working hour and caused server performance issue. However, we checked the live update log and find the real download time will always start from after 5:00am, is that any method to fix the start download time on 2:00am?

     We set the live update timer in SEPM --> Admin --> Local Site (My Site) --> Edit Site properties --> Live Update --> Edit Schedule 

    The schedule frequency: Daily

    Start: 02:00  End: 05:01

    Retry interval: 15 mins  Retry Windows 1 hours

    Retry window is set to try 1 hour after time set although it can't be set to 0 change your end time to 04:01 which will give you the desired window you are looking for.

    Sorry for the late reply. 

    I checked the log is inside the SEPM, which i cannot export as a txt file. (attachment: symantec update log.jpg)

     

    I serach on SYmantec website and found the live update log locate in:

    C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Log.LiveUpdate    (attachment: Log.LiveUpdate)

    and i discovered that the real uplive update download time is around 18 -19:00 everyday. it is far away from the schedule we set on the SEPM.

    Sorry for the late reply. I checked the log in SEPM whcih cannot export as txt. (attachment: symantec update log.jpg)

    I search on symantec website and found the live update log locate at  C:\ProgramData\Symantec\LiveUpdate\Log.LiveUpdate

    (attachment: Log.LiveUpdate)

     

    and discovered that the definition download time is around on 6-7:00pm which far away from the scheduled time period.

    How can we fix the ldefinition time is fixed in 2-3:00am?
