I am running 11 RU5 and while I was told on the phone it works I can't find anything that states its Windows 7 tested.  Really seems odd because there are a lot of other major AV vendors whose products are compliant.,

Even if it takes longer for whatever reason, offer whatever versions of Symantec that ARE compliant.

It seems odd that one of the biggest AV vendors can't release product in sequence with a Microsoft release when people have been testing thru beta, RC and RTM and the RTM was available to vendors in Early August 2009.

Same for PCanywhere, Ghost etc, it just seems wrong especially when an IT support team needs these valuable products to do testing with Windows 7.

Can we get a date when a real working 11.x version will be available.  I had installed 11 RU5 but was having high % of CPU taken by SMC.EXE even though i installed an unmanged client.

I have an open ticket with support but it is difficult to be a "test" case and supply Symantec info when I am trying to test and configure Windows 7 for my company.

Which versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection are supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2?
Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0 Release Update 5 (RU5) or higher is supported on Windows 7 and Windows Server 2008 R2. All previous versions of Symantec Endpoint Protection will not run on Windows 7 or Windows Server 2008 R2. For information on getting the latest release, read the document Obtaining an upgrade or update for Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x or Symantec Network Access Control 11.x.

Gee if only you took the time to research some, you would have read the system requirements for SEP right on the symantec.com product pages.
