According to the IT group I have the most up to date version (at least at my company) and the about section states this:

Symantec Management Agent version 7.6

The issue is that periodically all IP traffic will be halted (sometimes for a few seconds sometimes up to 2 minutes) and then it will resume. It does not appear to lose connection to the network it just blocks IP traffic. This is certainly problematic when I am logging into various work related website, they don't take kindly to randomly blocked IP traffic. The error message see is “Symantec Endpoint Protection Unsolicited incoming ARP reply detected, this is a kind of MAC spoofing that may consequently do harm to your computer”

I am using an HP laptop (work issued) and it is using Windows 7 and my router info is

Router name DD-WRT

Router model Asus RT-N16

Firmware Verision DD- WRT v 24-sp2 build 26866M

Kernel Version Linux 3.10.77 # 7845

We are using 2.4 ghz, and I do have access to a software engineer, he set up our home router and is a Linux guy.

Because you have the option "Automatically block an attackers IP Address for x seconds" enabled.

You need to disable this feature or add a firewall rule to allow the traffic.

Ok so can I list my router's IP into a rule that lives on my laptop or does that need to be at a higher level than my personal laptop? 

If I can do it on my laptop where would I find that setting?  I am supposed to have admin rights to my laptop.

Is this a managed client or unmanaged client? The settings differ depending on which one you're running.
