Will suspend archiving create the archive and allow data imports?

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hello,

I am building a new EV envoirnment to replace a legacy Mimosa NearPoint system. The scope of archiving is Exchange only. We are working with a third party company that has a product which import the data directly from NearPoint to EV 10. I was wondering if I set up the provisioning groups to "initally suspend archiving" if this would create archives for the mailboxes in the provisioning group, but not pull anything in from Exchange yet, as we want to get the NearPoint data into the archive, before we start "live" archiving from Exchange again.

Thanks!

Pretty sure that will work and you could do that.  You could also just go ahead and enable them without suspending but just don't run the archive task via the schedule.

That way you won't have to un-suspend them when you are ready.  That is probably what I would do.
