.Wim Files
Updated: 24 May 2010 | 3 comments
This issue has been solved. See solution.
When I created all the .wim files and did some test runs it keeps all of them listed in the Windows Boot Manager where I select the .wim file I want. Some dont work anymore because the .wim files have been removed. Is there a way to not have all of the test/junk ones show up in the Windows Boot Manger? It says Choose an operating system to start Ghost Windows PE.
Thanks!

What product version are you working with?

With reference to the wim files - are these boot images? Not entirely sure why you need all the different wims as one should be sufficient to handle your hardware if the correct drivers are present. Perhaps I have not understood your posting.

I am working with Symantec
I am working with Symantec Ghost Boot Wizard ver. 11.5.1.2266. I can create the .wim file and name it what I want with no issues. (By the way I am only working with one .wim file sorry for the confusion) but my issue is when I boot up the laptop for it to grab this file and start the ghosting process I get prompted with a list of all the named wim files I have ever created through the boot wizard. (Basically I did a lot of testing out before hand till I got it how I wanted it) so now before it will take the image and run the ghost server i have to scroll down a long list of old named wim files till I get to the one I want which is the last one on the list (the working one) I was just looking to see if there is a way to get rid of all the past (junk) named files that appear on the laptop before it images it so I have only the good one showing up and not this whole list of files. I thought it might have to do with the .wim files still showing up on the server but I did a search and the only .wim file that is on there is the good one that I want to use. Let me know if that makes sense now. Thanks!
boot images
Ghosty,
I'm sorry, but the only way to get rid of those is to delete the contents of the C:\TFTPBOOT folder and recreate your boot image. The enu file is automatically created, which is pretty convenient, but the downside is that it automatically adds the other present .wim boot images to the list. Sorry...
Thank you,
Randy
