    1. A user is using new notebook w/ Win7 Pro. 64bit and installed with SEP 11.0.6100.645 in Server 2008 DC environment. Now find that opening network drive excel file is much slower everytime. How should I fix? Give up to use SEP?

    2. How to identify SEP version, says RU 6, MR, MP1....etc. But not show in Product Version.

    Please kindly help.

    1. Yes, open file speed is normal and fast.  When he open network U drive's excel file, the circle icon is processing and don't let user control. I click U dirve in my computer and the address bar is scanning. After it scan finish, can use the Excel too.

And I find that the other user using same OS and SEP version also has same issue too. But that user seldom use network drive as he stores file in local harddisk.

    Try this

    Disable Network Drive Scanning:
    Click the Policies Tab.
    Click Antivirus and Antispyware.
Click the policy you would like to modify and then click Edit the Policy.
    Click File System Auto-Protect.
    Under Network Settings, uncheck Network.
    Click OK.
Assign the policy by clicking Assign the Policy, then check each group to which the policy should apply.
    Click Assign, then click Yes.

Already disable the Network scanning. These win7 64bit computers are unmanaged clients.

Our servers and network still use SAV 10.2.4.4000. Not upgrade to SEP environment yet.

If you turn off the file system auto-protect in the client system, whether it is getting opened as normal?

    Sorry, can't locate the url.

    Find new things.

    1. When I copied those files to Server 2003 File Server and open by that user, opening speed is normal.

    2. When tried again for those files on Server 2008, opening is slow. Same after turn off file system auto protect.

Find that the problem comes from Server 2008. Is it related to SAV 10.2.4.4000 which installed on Server 2008?

    Thanks.

Do you have SEP installed on the client and did you install the NTP component? If that is the case please have a look at this thread:

Tried NTP uninstalled. Same issue. Had tried two win7 machines too. Same results. I can't figure out the problems.

Now just let user to open excel files slowly. Hope can have new SEP update ASAP.
