    Hello

I recently installed WIN 7 on a Dell Lap top E7240 is there a particular windows update to go for in regards to solve my issue , which is:

After installing Symantec Endpoint Encryption 8.2.1 the Samsung SSD SM841N M SATA SCSI drive is not being seen in order to encrypt. What if any is the Win 7 Update to go for if applicable in order for the partitions to encrypt via SEE?

The Samsung SM841N mSata drive is an Opal compliant, self-encrypting drive.  We do not work with self-encrypting drives.

Samsung does have tools which may allow you to disable that functionality (I believe it is called Samsung Magician).  If disabled, it may allow for encryption, but as I don't have an SM841 handy, I am not able to help test it.  In the Samsung Magician, click the Security tab.  The encryption types should list there, with one being TCG Opal.  Note that it may not be enabled, but in a state showing "Ready to Enable".  This basically means the drivers are loaded and waiting, which could still cause ourr product to not recognize the disk.
