Deployment Solution

Okay, so I looked and I can't seem to find a solution.

I have a base Windows 10 x64 OS and it apparently had the agent installed at one point or another...at least I believe it did.

I try to download the new agent using the following link.

Link: http://servername/altiris/ns/agent/altirisagentdownload.aspx

It downloads just fine but when I run it...it asks me to upgrade, so I click yes.

It starts but then just disappears.  I look at the logs from the following location:

Location: C:\ProgramData\Symantect\Symantec Agent\InstallLogs

There are a lot of events being showed, but at the bottom is states the following:

*ERRR Installer: Action RegisterComDll: error 0x80070002 returned from DllRegisterServer call for C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\AeXAgentPages.dll.

*ERRR CoreUtil: Upgrade failed. Error message: Failed to run action: InstallCoreAgentDll

I have tried to restart and do it again, but I get the same issues as mentioned above.

Thoughts? Suggestions?

1. You are trying to install Agent using Administrator account?

2. "Symantec Management Agent for Windows - Uninstall" rollout policy isn't enabled?

3. Have you tried to manually register AeXAgentPages.dll?

• You can do this from cmd line on client PC: C:\Windows\System32>regsvr32.exe "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\AeXAgentPages.dll"

4. Have you tried to manually uninstall Agent and then install it again?

• You can Agent uninstallation from cmd line on client PC: "C:\Program Files\Altiris\Altiris Agent\AeXNSAgent.exe" /uninstall
• Try to install Agent again.

Note: While running command line on client PC, make sure that you've opened command line under account who has administrative privileges.

UAC disabled?

We just rebuilt the image from scratch again.
