    We've upgraded to SMP 7.6 HF 5, however are still having trouble syspreping windows 10. The prepare for image capture task will run without any errors, but we still have issues with the default user profile. The start menu and search buttons don't work for any new user account. Upon further review it looks like the C:\Users\Default folder is incomplete. It only has appdata and documents in it so I would assume something is happening when the user profile is being copied over.

    In the prepare for image capture task I have Windows 10 set as the OS type. I've checked the box to run sysprep with admin credentials and put in the credentials for the built in local administrator account. Has anyone else been able to get this to work correctly?

    Did you modify the unattended.XML on the deployment server? I remember that issue when I was making my Windows 8.1 image.

    Yes we are using a custom unattend file. Aa soon as copy profile is set to true the issue occurs. WE didn't have an issues doing it with Windows 8.1 though.

    Greetings!

    Doing some quick research, it appears there is a problem with the CopyProfile Unattended functions with Windows 10:

    It seems the issue is cause by the CU (Cumulative Update) being applied, or a couple of updates, two that are indicated are: KB3093266 & KB3081449

    The issue is not with Deployment Solution, but with the Microsoft Sysprep tool, and updates from Microsoft causing havoc with the Sysprep function.

    I had heard it was a Microsoft issue, however when reading page 7 of the release notes for ITMS 7.6 Hot fix 5 found here https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.DOC9112.html? it says

    "The Prepare for Image capture task is updated to address the disabled Start and Search options issue for Windows 10 operating system when the Sysprep task is run. "

    It does appear that the fall update for Windows 10 Microsoft released yesterday has fixed the problem at least for me.

    Thanks for the update SamTarr;

    So, to clarify, now that the latest Windows 10 updates have been released, when you install them prior to image capture, and when you run the CopyProfile function with your custom unattend.xml file the Start Menu, etc., is working fine when the system reboots and comes out of Sysprep?

    This is using either the HF5 build, or the HF6 build that was released this week?

    Thank you for reporting and helping others understand this issue.

    Yes now that we installed the Windows updates prior to image capture it works fine. We are running HF5.
