    Hi All

I have setup my GSS 3.0 console machine and deployed the DAgent to a Windows 10 (64bit) and Windows 7 (32 bit) pc, both show in the console and I can reboot each from the console. Here's my questions:

    1. I try to do a SysPrep / Capture Image on either machine and nothing happens. Is this a process that requires PXE on the subnet?

    2. When I was trying to Capture the Windows 10 image I notice that Windows 10 is not an option in the drop down list, is this an issue or should I just select WIndows 8.

    3. Is this old way of creating an image and doing a multicast out to say a lab full of computers still the best way to deploy or is there benefit to having just the Windows on the pc and using the console to push out the various software packages (i.e. Office 2016) required?

    Thanks

    Steve

    1. You do need PXE or an automation partition on the PC but this will only cause the imaging part to fail, sysprep should still run and reboot he PC to take the image. Check logs in c:\windows\panther or c:\windows\system32\sysprep; I forget which log applies to the prepare for image sysprep process. 2. Check if there's an update for GSS that supports Windows 10. 3. Its a matter of personal preference. It's much quicker to deploy an image with Office already in it compared with a smaller image then installing Office after but if you have different Office versions (2013, 2016 etc) or configurations (with/without OneNote for example) then, although slower, it might be better to deploy afterwards.

    Hi Andy

So can I use BootWiz to make up a WinPE boot CD that can run ghost32 for me instead of DAgent? I prefer to use Multicast to send the image out once instead of downloading it multiple times. Thanks

Also, where would I find any updates for WIndows 10? Thanks

You can use BootWiz to make a WinPE CD. But you can use multicast to distribute the image irrespective of how you boot the PC provided you don't use the old DOS UNDI driver.

Yup, I found that out yesterday, there is an upgrade email I never got that explains that, I have it installed now, all I want is to be able to boot up my workstations and run Ghost Multicating for tranferring some images, just like in the GSS 2.5.1 day, should be possible I expect.

    Regards
