  • 1.  Windows 2000 SP4 not checking in..

    Posted May 15, 2012 01:10 PM

I have two Windows 2000 SP4 servers on which SEP v11-RU6a was just installed today, yet they are not checking into SEPM.
When clicking the "Help and Support" button, the "Troubleshooting" link announces they are Offline.
When selecting "Debug Logs" SEP says "There is no debug log file to view".

Does anyone have some other good suggestions about troubleshooting this behavior on these ancient Windows 2000 machines?

    Thanks,

    Hello,

Could you upload us with the sylink.log from the client machines and try replacing the Sylink.xml manually by following the steps provided in the article below:

How to change a Symantec Endpoint Protection client from unmanaged to managed

    http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH90761

How to convert Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) clients from managed to unmanaged without uninstalling and reinstalling

    Hope that helps!!

Thanks Pete - I will check it out.

    Thanks Mithun.
I have replaced a newly exported sylink.xml from my SEPM on the two W2k servers and that had no effect.
