This issue has been solved. See solution.

This client is a fresh install with first time SEP 12 deployment. Deployment OK but it shows offline and Restart Required. I restarted the server but no help, it's still offline and no SEP showing up at the server end. Help please, thanks.

Questions and Suggestions

Hello,

Is the SEP client and SEPM installed on the same Windows 2008 64 bit machine?

Try disabling the Windows Firewall on the Windows 2008 64 bit machine.

Also, try Disabling the SEPM IIS website and configure the Apache Web server to listen to custom ports that clients connect to using the below KB:

http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH161392

Hope that helps!!

Thanks

Both Pete and Mithun gave good suggessions! This is my bad :( I selected a wrong package (32bit)! it's working now. I wish your developers had something warning when user selected a wrong package to deploy, something like "This 32bit package can NOT be deployed to 64bit system'!

Thanks anyway for your quick respond.
