    I am having the following error installing SEP on Windows 7 " This version of SEP does not support 64 bit platforms. Please install SEP Win64 instead"...what would be the best practice method to make the installation work

    What version of SEP are you trying to install? Only RU5 and above is supported on Windows7.

    If you have downloaded the CD1 from https://fileconnect.symantec.com

    open the SEPwin64 folder and run the setup from there.

    Hello,

    You are trying to install a 32-bit version of Symantec Endpoint Protection onto a 64-bit operating system. You need to install a 64-bit version of SEP.

    Please note that if you use Rafeeq's tip of installing a 64-bit version of SEP from the installation CD (SEPWin64) that the client will be unmanaged.

    If you need the client to be managed, you should export a new 64-bit installation package from the Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.
