I have pcAnywhere version 12.1 and when I connect to my 64 bit Windows 7 PC I can't get past the lock screen.  It does nothing when I click the Send Ctrl + Alt + Del button.

Is there something I need to do other than buy a new version of pcAnywhere?

Quick Look Solution

It is likely 64bit windows

It is likely 64bit windows 7?

pcAnywhere especially older versions didn't do good at the login screen on 64bit OS's can you get to the host system.   I bet that the ctr alt del is working but you can't see the screen change on the remote.    If you can blindly type the user name and password then when you get to the desktop you could try to disable the mirror driver to maybe get past this.

The newer version will work much better.  And it is free to get if you email pcanywhere@symantec.com .   It isn't backwards compatible so you will need to update both the host and the remote to 12.5.5 sp4 but it's free if you ask for the upgrade because of security risks.

cheers.

Update the host's video

Update the host's video drivers, and more likely than not disable pcAnywhere mirror driver will resolve this also but then with the mirror driver the quality probably is not as good so if you can handle this page not refreshing then run it as is.

glad that worked.
