Windows 7 deployment - Altiris 7.1 and WinPE- Supported Zip formats and functions?

    I am involved with a Windows 7 deployment, using Altiris 7.1. During WinPE, we have a driver install job that copies down zipped driver files, through a VBScript. After the zipped files get copied, we have a call  in the script that unzips them to the current directory..7ZIP executable is sitting on the server/share where the files are coming from but not on the local client machine..The files copy fine through an xcopy command, but the 7Z.exe commands to unzip are not working. The build stops at this point. I am getting an error message the the program cannot be executed. Does anyone know of if Altiris 7.1 supports 7zip (7z.exe 64 bit) in a WinPE 64 bit deployment?

    It does not support this.  You should extract the source files into a folder and copy the folder (and the contents) down to the targeted system.
