Install developed using Wise Installation Studio 7 SP1.

Install on Windows 7 begins and then requires a reboot.

Install does not continue after reboot.

Set UAC to lowest level and install continues.

Does anyone have a solution or workaround for this?

Do you get an error "Failure due to pending system reboot"?

You mentioned that the installation continues after the reboot, is that when it is failing?

Please get the installation logs from the %temp% directory. [ the way in earlier to windows 7 OS was: Start->Run->%temp%, and then look for sep_inst.log ]

Look for return value 3 in the install log, and post 8 lines before and 8 lines after the appearance of that message.

    best,

Check that the Use Restart Manager option is checked on the Windows Installer options menu. Windows 7 does not allow a program that requires administrative rights to be launched from the Startup menu or the Run registry key. It has to use the Restart Manager.

The users in the SEP forum are more likely to know about Windows 7 compatibility

    Hello Mroy
can you try this please: Open regedit and navigate to HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\SessionManager\
    delete PendingFileRenameOperations
    and install it again.
    Thanks

That's a known issue with server2008 and I believe a fellow at work here said he was having issues with a KNOWN Windows 7 thing that's quite similar. IT's got a key that tells other apps that there's changes pending and it stops installs.
I also had to disable user access controls on some machines for certain installs to work.
