    Helo everyone,

I'm having problems on some workstations with Windows 7 afterinstalling SEP 12.1

Windows loses network connectivity, keeps the icon of the network interface marked with the red X and uninstall Symantec EndpointProtection. After the network connection no longer works.

Note: SEP 12.1 these machines were installed with GPO. In an installation of 50 machines had this problem in 3.

    Thanks for the help

Does not look like an issue with SEP. If it was related to SEP installation, you would have gain network access after uninstalling it. The red X mark you are talking about may be due to unplugged network cable/failure of network switch/hub.

This may be caused by Permissions on NLA service

    ·  Try the following steps

-->Go to: Start > Run and type in: cmd

-->  Type in the following:net localgroup Administrators /add Local service

I am not sure how RU1 would resolve the network connectvity issue. Are there any issue related to network that has been fixed in RU1?

No problem with the network connection. Tests was made to connect to another computer and done tests with network cables.

we can solve the problem with the following:

    1. remove entries in Windows Registry related to the SEP.
    2. reset connections and sockets stack TCP / IP running on the command prompt as administrator and typing the following commands:
    netsh winsock reset
    netsh interface ipv4 reset
    netsh interface ipv6 reset

    3. in device manager remove the network interface
    4. restart the computer

Need to understand why this problem because I have to continue the installation in more than 800 workstations and I am afraid that the problem happens on other machines.

There was no time to try to apply the proposed procedure:

This may be caused by Permissions on NLA service

    ·  Try the following steps

-->Go to: Start > Run and type in: cmd

-->  Type in the following:net localgroup Administrators /add Local service

    --->  Restart your computer.

Are all these machines the same machine with the last Network Interface Card drivers installed?

Machines may be requiring a reboot after the upgrade, which installed the Teefer driver (firewall).

If they are in the same group, do you have any rules (firewall) that might be blocking certain traffic?

Hmm... maybe try install 1 client without SEP firewall component? (NTP)

network could be blocked by some fw policy i guess?
