windows 7 professional cant install enpoint protection v11

I've been at this for the past few days i have held all urges to post, so that i can solve this myself but im afraid that there is no other way. I'm getting the notorious

"symantec Endpoint Protection has detected that there are pending system changes that require a reboot"

i have followed this article http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH95608 however with no luck at all.

can someone please tell me how to install this?!! I'm beyond frustruation level right now.

First, what version of 11.x are you trying to install? The first supported version of 11.x on Windows 7 is 11.0.5.

Second, after you deleted or rennamed the reg, did you reboot? You should not reboot after deleting/renaming as the key may come back or revert back. You need to try the install immediately after making the change.

Brian i did not reboot. i followed the directions to the "T". but I'm still getting nowhere.

product version Product Version: 11.0.5002.333.

Is this a fresh install or was there possibly a previous version on it?

Have you tried running a cleanwipe on the system?

This is not a fresh install i had to unistall the software because live update was erroring. so i figuered let me just remove it all and then reinstall. how do i clean wipe thes ystem

Well you will need to cotnact support for the tool.

Try removing liveupdate via add/remove programs in control panel. I would also delete any remaining symantec folders and try again

yup i have already done so and i have gotten nowhere. I will contact customer support for the utility. thats about the only thing i havent tried.

in the registry look for this key and delete it B754A361_3344_430B_92FF_8F9A227A6B90

then run the install.

Hi,

 

Take the backup and remove the below registry entry.

Delete the “PendingFileRenameOperations” Registry key from the below path

[HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Session Manager]

Installation will success after reboot the system.
