Windows 7 support for NS6?
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 7 comments
Does anyone know if NS6 be updated to support Windows 7? Odds are that we'll have more workstations with Windows 7 in the environment before we migrate to NS7 (not that that fully supports Windows 7 either to my knowledge). We're just looking to be able to support patching, software portal, etc. It seems that basic inventory works, but that's about it.
I've seen this: http://www.symantec.com/connect/forums/notification-server-compatible-windows-2008-64-bit
which links a system support matrix...and though the date is recent, i'm not sure if it's accurate or not.

So, i'm assuming...
..that the PMImport won't reflect Windows7 updates until then either? I'm just trying to figure out how to manage our Windows7 beta group as far as keeping them patched and up to date. Will Patch Management / pmimport for NS7 be supporting patches for Windows7 before then?

Correct
That is correct. Patch Management won't have updates in PMImport until support has been released for Windows 7 in the timeframe I gave above.

Andrew's answer
Thanks Andrew, I had not seen anything previously that gave an estimated timeframe.
You might also want to share your information on the IDEA tab for the following.
Thanks again.
