  • 1.  Windows 7 - Turn UAC off when SEP is running?

    Aloha,

    I just installed Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.0.5002.333 on a single Windows 7 system that I will manage locally.  The installation instructions I followed had me disable Windows 7 User Access Contol (UAC) by setting it to "never notify" before installing SEP.  The installation has completed, live update completed, and SEP is running fine.  My question is- will SEP run properly if I return UAC to a more secure setting?  Or is the 'not recommended' never notify setting required to run SEP?

    You should have no issues turning UAC back to your preferred level.

    uac needs to be turned only during the installations 
    UAC will not allow remote install however once the installation is complete u can turn it back on

    @Tbone65, @Rafeeq.  Many thanks.  UAC reset to a higher setting.  SEP running smoothly.
