Windows 8 goes to BSOD

Created: 26 Mar 2013 | 7 comments

Now I have Laterst version of SEPM on win server 2008R2 and client installation for both 64 and 32 Bits.

Whenever I install SEP client on win 8 workstation or laptop it goes to bsod. It looks like Application and device Control problem from the error code that BSOD gives me.

Anyone knows a workaround about this one?

if you install SEP with only AV does it work fine?

have you collected the memory dump? if yes, any analysis on that/

Yep, only AV works fine, but ADC is one of the most important components for my corporate interests.

I didn't gather the dump file because, i was too lazy for that :D

By the way, how to disable ADC for computer group in SEPM?

nah, I am using SEPM generated clients for company. Kinda disabled ADC fom installation features and disabled it from group policy but still ADC gets installed after restart.

Memory Dump is necessary to analyze the root cause of BSOD.

I would strongly suggest to open a support case and provide them memory dump, image if required.

Support can reproduce the issue. They can try to identify root cause & culprit.

Loa a web case or call support.

If you have to work with support than you will need to gather the full dump for analysis. Since your on the latest version, I wuold suggest doing that as this may be a new bug.

Hello,

What version of SEPM is installed and what version of SEP is being installed on the Windows 8 machine?

Symantec Endpoint Proteciton 12.1.2015 (RU2) supports Windows 8 client machines.

In your case, please collect Full Dump file and SST Logs.

Log a Case with Symantec Technical Support Team to get it reviewed.
