  • 1.  Is Windows 98 supported under Symantec Antivirus Corporate Edition v10.x?

    Posted Jul 15, 2009 01:56 PM
We have some older machines that run proprietary code on a Win98 platform and are running SAV 9.x.   We have upgraded most of our machines to either SAV 10.x or Endpoint Protection v11 but I do not know if I can upgrade those Win98 units to SAV10.

I have tried to do some searching but all I get is that SAV 10.x is supported on machines that have IE 5.5 and above.  I need to know if W98 is supported or not and a link to actual Symantec doc that I can show as proof either way.

    Thanks.

no, SAV 10.X does not support Win 98. Sav 9.x used to support but it is declared end of life.

check the installation guide and you will get to know the supported plarform for sav 10.x

Pete is right only SAV 9.x is supported on Windows 98/NT
For higher OS you need atleast 10.x

Hi to all, I'd like to confirm if SAV 9.0 has gone to its "End of Life"?? I'm about to propose AV but the client's existing engine runs Windows 98 OS. Gladly apprepriate your comments, thanks!
