Hey.

We have been having problems with Windows FW. rules not working. After a lot of testing and reading old threads in this forum we finaly got it working.

I have added an updated working example of our post activate powershellscript that detects witch layer RO and RW is located in. And another Pre Deactivate script that delete the firewall entrys if the pacage is deactived so the registry does not get messy.

For older SWV agents the important thing is to use small letters inside the brackets so SWV won't rewrite them in the registry(that will break everything).

Hope this will help other if they have the same problems we had.

Hello AJ,

Thank you for sharing your script! I'm sure it will be helpful to others facing the same problem. I wanted to tell you about a fix that is availble that addresses an issue where the Windows Firewall was detecting virtualized applications in the redirect area instead of the non-redirection area. This fix was introduced in SP8 MP2 HF1, and is also available in the most current release SP8 MP2 HF2. Please see the following link for the download location:

Would you be able to test this latest version against the problem you mentioned and let us know if it resolves the issue that you're working around using your script?

Regards,

Danny

Hey.
Seems like this is a final solution to the firewall bug, but since we have over 11.000 pc's we will have to roll the new version out over a long period of time.
