Hi All,

I have a really strange issue when trying to pxe boot into WinPE our itanium hp blades. It finds the server fine, but then starts its "Windows is loading files..." and then sits there for about 2 hours. It is loading but just very very slowly.

I am able to boot other hardware fine with the winpe preboot env. I have tried creating a dedicated ia64 winpe image, but it is the same problem. Any ideas?

WinPE Slow boot - Itanium

This has been addressed with HP RDP 3.81 and 3.82. I think the correlate to DS 6.9 and DS 6.9 SP1. I have seen the issue. This will not be fixed without HP RDP.

Thanks Nelson.....it is good to hear that someone else has hit the issue. However, it is not good to hear that it will not be fixed in the standard DS 6.9, as that is what I am running.

I think I will log a call for this after Christmas, so that I can get an official response.

I have managed to fix this by

I have managed to fix this by updating the firmware on our Integrity blades to 04.11 (EFI). It now loads a lot quicker (minutes instead of hours).

However, I now get a new issue after it has loaded, but I will put that in a new post.
