  • 1.  Windows PE 2.1 doesn't work sometimes

    Hi all,

    i have a strange problem with WinPE 2.1 on my DS 6.9 (365 SP1).
    Sometimes i can boot in WinPE and sometimes not. I get this error:

    File: \Boot\BCD
    Status: 0xc0000001
    Info: An error occoured while attemping to read the boot configuration data.

    When i regenerate the WinPE Boot Image with PXE Manager, it will work again for some minutes and than something happens on my DS.

    Any help/tips?

    it seems the boot.wim from the masterimages folder (PXEManager) is not making it to the image folder (PXE server).  Once in the image folder there is a batch  file that gets executed to fixup the bdcedit for the boot.  I would try two things.
    1. Make sure all PXE services are running.
    2. Create a new WinPE PXE boot configuration and see if this works.

    Hello,
    i found out, that the error only appears when the computer is in the DS Database. When i delete the machine from the console and boot to PE it works. The next PE boot fails.
    i will try it with a new PE Boot configuration

    Okay, there must be something wrong with my PXE Server. I don't need to recreate the boot image i just need to restart the PXE Service and it will work again for some minutes. I think i have to reinstall the PXE Server...
