Deployment Solution

Hi all,
im trying to integrate WinPe 2.1 to our Deployment Server. Everything works fine with the Boot Disc Creator, no errors.
But when i want to boot into WinPe through the PXE Menu it stops immediately with this error:

Windows failed to start. A recent hardware or software change might be the cause. To fix the problem:

1. Insert your Windows Installation disc an restart your computer
2. Choose your language settings, and the click "Next
3. Click "Repair your computer"

If you do not have this disc, contact your system administrator or computer manufacturer for assistance.

Status: 0x0000001

Info: An error occured while attempting to read the boot configuration data

I know that there is a KB article which mentioned to install the Maintenance Pack 1 to fix this problem. But i did this already.

I used the Altiris WinPE installer and also the WinPE from the newest WAIK. Nothing worked.

Would be nice if someone knows a fix for that.

Did you download the WinPE 2.1 Preboot file from Altiris?

What exactly do you mean? I have the Altiris_DS_Preboot_WinPE_2.1_x86.exe

That was exactly what I meant. And you used that to install WinPE, right?

Yes. This packages was installed within the Boot Disc creator.

Have you tried re-installing it?

Yes sure. I tried it a few times. How can i remove the WinPe form PXE completely? I think to remove the Menu Entry isn't enough?

I'm not sure if you can uninstall it but it would probably be done through the Boot Disk Creator.

Ok, it is working with machines which are not listet in Deployment console. When i delete a client from the DS, it is booting to PE. But now i run into the next error... While booting to PE a bluescreen appears with this error

STOP: d0000144 Unknow Hard Error

This is happening on every hardware model.

Argh... A server reboot fixed all problems...
