Windows Security Centre Warnings

We have one site where all the machines are exhibiting the same problem. Basically, after every Virus Definition Update, Windows Security Centre pops up to say that Symantec Endpoint Security is installed but not running. The Endpoint Security service is running and I can get into the SEP GUI just fine. If I restart the Windows Security Service, the problem remains. The only way to resolve the issue is to restart the SEP client service.
The machines are all running XP SP3.
Can anyone please assist?

Can you pls. elaborate little bit more on this issue. do you think you can generate logs and share us some more info? Are you running liveupdate manually. Do you think you have a reproducible scenario?
Which is the version of SEP
Which is the version of SEP you are using ?
If it is an old version I recommend you to use RU5 because in older versions a lot of problem was there with Security center reporting and it is got fixed in newer versions

As Aravind told its better to have latest version of SEP.
Even if its not working then run Symantec Endpoint Protection Support Tool and look for any errors.

I downloaded the Trial of
I downloaded the Trial of Symantec Protection Suite SBE - this was only last week. Is this not the latest version? If not, why on earth not? It's shows as version 12.0.122.192 in Help/About. If I log in to Connect using the serial number, the version available to download is still the same.....ie there has been no update to the binaries for several months.
Suren: To elaborate, we have 25 clients all running the above software and a W2003 server running Protection Centre managing these clients. Liveupdate runs automatically every 4 hours. It can be easily reproduced as it happens every time an update occurs. I have run the support tool which returns no warnings....
