Windows Server 2008 R2 x64 (using WOW64)

This issue has been solved. See solution.
I have a client that is attempting to use server 2008 R2 X64 (WOW64). The EV application is running in 32 bit mode. Is this supported. According to the latest compatibility guide, it is pending.

Pending does not mean it does not work, it just means SYMC have not finished testing it to confirm its supported... You could lab it and see if you keep function?
I highly vote against using
I highly vote against using Enterprise Vault in an unsupported environment.
Just wait some more weeks until it is really confirmed to be supported.

Congrats on the trusted advisor status!
For PJY, If you can delay the roll-out of EV until symantec has confirmed it being compatible I would do that. I'm running 4 journalservers on W2008SP2X64 (not R2!!) and they work fine. But, as Michel says, it is currently not supported, and you might be told you have an unsupported environment if something goes wrong.

As mentioned above, the target for support for Windows 2008 R2 x64 is EV 8.0 SP4.. I'd also agree with the advise, wait a few more weeks until SP4 is released.
