  • 1.  Is Windows Server 2008 supported for SCSP Mgmt Server ?

    Now I'm confused.

I've download the latest version, 5.2.8.3, and according to the product documentation,  page 20 on scspints.pdf, W2K8 is not supported for the management server - see attached pic.

But according to this KDB http://www.symantec.com/docs/TECH116411 , it's supported since version 5.2.3 MP1.

What is the correct info ?

Refer to the Support Matrix instead. I think this gets updated more frequently. I noticed that it is 2008 and 2008 R2 is supported for the manager but then support for 2008 is dropped in MP3. Only 2008 R2 Is supported.  Would be helpful if this was clarified.

See the SCSP_Platform_Feature_Matrix.pdf in the docs directory of the install media.

I am running the SCSP Manager on Win2k8 without issue.

    HiFbacchinZF,

Yes, Windows Server 2008 Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition are fully supported by the latest release 5.2.8 MP3.

The scspints.pdf is not updated with every release, therefore it is better to refer to the Matrix as suggested by Chuck.

However, there is a mistake on the current Matrix 3/15/2012 on page 13 in the OS column since it should be Windows 2008 (Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition) right under Windows 2008 R2 (Standard Edition and Enterprise Edition) instead of "Version 5.2 RU8 MP2".

The articles below might help you during the installation process:

Let us know if you have any questions, if not, mark the thread as solved ;)

    Best regards,

    Shulk.
